For many years now, Frierss has regularly taken part in the renowned quality test of the German Agricultural Society (DLG), where every year the best food and beverages are awarded in the categories gold, silver and bronze. The specialities of Carinthia's traditional company have always been awarded "gold" and this success story continues with eleven "golds" at the 2021 awards. 

One of the annual gold guarantors is the mild Carinthian Schinkenspeck, which, like the Carinthian raw ham, uses garden herbs that are traditionally hand-salted and matured for four months in the Gegendtaler raw ham manufactory. The Frierss family is particularly proud of the gold for their new Zirbenrauchschinken. Traditional craftsmanship and smoking over local stone pine wood from the Nockberge mountains give it its particularly hearty flavour with a subtle hint of forest. Top marks were also given to the Nock-Land whisky ham or the Carinthian house sausages - now newly cut as SNÄXX and refined with green pepper. The Frierss Carinthian Extra Sausage, which is made only from 100% Carinthian beef and pork according to a family recipe, also won gold. An annual gold guarantor is also Frierss Mortadella.

 

 

 

The DLG awards stand for the highest quality standards and are awarded by the experts of the German Agricultural Society after strict, objective testing. Sensory factors such as taste, smell and consistency as well as appearance of the products are evaluated.

 

 

Quality by tradition

The secret of the award-winning taste lies in 123 years of experience, the best local meat quality, traditional family recipes and sufficient time for the full development of taste. The artisan processing, the specially developed spice mixtures, the gentle cooking process or the delicate smoking over local wood are just as important for the taste as the particularly slow maturing, which makes the fine difference.
